We will usher in the season of Lent this Wednesday with our Ash Wednesday service at 7 PM at the history club. What exactly is Lent? During the Ash Wednesday service I will invite you to the observance of a holy Lent, which the words of our prayer book define as “self-examination and repentance; by prayer, fasting, and alms-giving; and by reading and meditating on God’s holy Word.” Together we are seeking to be a people devoted to daily Scripture, daily prayer, and regular fasting. This will be our Lenten focus.
